Stray Kids’ SKZOO is a creative project where each member of the group is represented by a cartoon animal character. This concept combines the group’s initials “SKZ” with “Zoo,” cleverly linking the members to their animal forms. The characters were first introduced in December 2020 and became more popular in February 2021 with the release of an animated version of their song “God’s Menu.”
The animal characters are chosen based on the members’ personalities, physical features, or nicknames. For example, Bang Chan is represented by a wolf because he often uses the wolf emoji and is seen as a strong leader. Changbin’s character is a mix of a pig and a rabbit, inspired by a clay sculpture he made that resembled both animals. Hyunjin is represented by a ferret due to his tall and slender appearance, which is similar to a ferret’s body shape.
Each character also reflects the personality traits of its corresponding member. Felix’s character, BbokAri, is a chick, symbolizing his bright and cheerful personality. Seungmin is represented by a puppy, reflecting his energetic and playful nature. The SKZOO characters have been used in various performances and merchandise, making them a fun and engaging part of Stray Kids’ brand.
The SKZOO project allows fans to connect with the group members in a more imaginative way, creating a unique bond between the fans and the group. It also showcases the creativity and playfulness of Stray Kids, highlighting their ability to engage with their audience through different forms of media and entertainment.
