Seventeen, a popular K-pop group, has collaborated with many artists and organizations internationally, but their first major international collaboration was not specifically with another artist. However, they have worked with UNESCO on several projects, which can be considered a significant international collaboration. In 2022, they launched the “Going Together” campaign with UNESCO to promote education and youth participation, and this campaign led to the establishment of community learning centers in East Timor and educational support in Malawi.
Seventeen’s collaboration with UNESCO continued when they became the organization’s first-ever Goodwill Ambassador for Youth in June 2024. As part of this role, they launched the “Going Together – For Youth Creativity & Well-Being” program, which aims to support youth projects globally by promoting confidence, creativity, and mental well-being. This initiative includes a grant scheme where Seventeen donated $1 million to fund 100 youth-led projects worldwide, attracting over 2,300 applicants from 140 countries.
In terms of musical collaborations, Seventeen released their first full English song, “Darl+ing,” in 2022, which was part of their album “Face the Sun.” Later, they collaborated with music producer Marshmello on the song “SOS” in 2023, marking another significant international musical collaboration.
